Design is essential to achieve a circular future.
Design is the driving force behind reimagining products, systems, and processes that eliminate waste and promote sustainable practices. A design approach allows organizations to integrate and align their teams so that their circular vision of the future is turned into actionable strategies. Through observation and deep analysis, it helps to navigate the complex relationships between organizations, customers, and the environment and to identify needs and possibilities for intervention. Design can make possible futures tangible, giving organizations the ability to validate assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and make better decisions for the benefit of society and the planet.
I combine multiple approaches to generate effective circular design strategies.
During my years as a designer, I have worked on multiple projects to help build a fairer and more environmentally responsible consumption model. Through my design practice I discovered that the most effective way to generate long-lasting and sustainable solutions over time is by using these three approaches combined:
Considering the interconnections of different parts of a system and how they work together.
Systems Thinking
Design Thinking
Using creative and iterative processes to solve problems and develop user-centered solutions.
Future Thinking
Understanding the driving factors, context, and impacts of different possible futures.
